I've kind of strayed away from the lower classes because bmelm had most of them filled up. The nice part about classes under 16 is that you dont need to be a derby king to run those cars. Those strong cars sure help you become a derby king a lot faster.

He may have had them filled, but I hadnot seen any Class 9,10,11,14 or 15 in use. I figured they would have been used up of they didn't work.

Regardless, now there is a bit of a format for people to use. I am going to add a few car names to some of the class file #s to help others understand whats what.

Class file #123 has now been claimed. It is a frontwheel drive class for Midsize Wagons like the FordTaurus. Lots of it is based upone class 122.

Well, SORRY Hero to Zero in 24 hours. It appears that I fooled myself 50%. I added a class file 258 and then renamed a vehicles class from 4 to 258. THis was a decent power class file I created. Sure enough the class 4 car ran as Class 258 and it had great power. So I figured I was right and moved on. I then went to play that car again and it acted like a turd. THen I did it again and it acted like a turd, then pretty fast. Then I realized its not reading the class file I created but randomly grabbing a class file below 256 and running from it. Well, I gotta tell you, thats pretty funny. I can now create some AI cars with Random characteristics.
So, I lost half the battle and some credibility, but then I have something else to tinker with and investigate more. I removed my class file 258 completely and the car would run...

Definitely on my wish list.

Maybe I did not do exactally what you did but I tried to copy what you did here and my car will generate the same class file evertime. Even when I changed the class file numbers to 257, 259, and 300. It generates a stock feeling class file, but the strange part is it does not perform the same to any one stock class file. It performs closest to a class2 car but it is definately not a class2 car. It revs up 8 bars (just to the first orange bar), strength-wise its comparable to a class 2 car, its somewhat slow like a stock car, its a lighter weight car (definately feels lighter than a class4 car because it bounces around more and is a little quicker), it does not spin out turning a circle in reverse, it will spin the tires a little when pushing cars, and it acts like the '67 imp when turning tight circles going fast in forward gears (it goes up on two wheels, and then spins out). I cannot think of a class file that shares all of the same characteristics as the one that is generated.

Its still interesting that a car with a class file over 256 will still work in the game as a player car, it just has a supplied class file. Hell, the class file doesnt even have to exist in the vehicles folder and it will still work.

That last sentence is the most fascinating part. That Class files above 256 don't have to exist and it will still work. And Yes, I could find no consistency of what class file it mimics but I didn't experiment alot with it.

I think I am going to make a clown car with class file 257

I thought for a minute that it used the default.veh in the vehicles folder, but it doesnt. That one revs up to 16,500 RPM

Great to see the class files are getting updated.
I was just about to do it and its done LOL.

Also, there are two versions of class #6. They are minor differences, but different enough. The versions are the one that comes with the 66 Newport and the other that comes with the 008 Olds.

For my own use I had just moved the 008 Olds to Class #9.

Now that I see others using that class file, and its an nice one, as a class six file, Perhaps now is a good time to split them up.

The damage, Engine and traction is different.

Here are the two version of Class #6 that I have, and they can quickly be differentiated by the damage to pick out which is which. But there are many different characteristics between the two files.

2dr Chevy, Class #6
[DAMAGE]
FRONT_FENDER=(350.0)
FRONT_BODY=(425.0)
REAR_FENDER=(475.0)
REAR_BODY=(450.0)

Olds, Class #6 recommended to move to class #9
[DAMAGE]
FRONT_FENDER=(375.0)
FRONT_BODY=(450.0)
REAR_FENDER=(325.0)
REAR_BODY=(450.0)
